An intimate night with Jake, Matt and Wonitta
As part of their highly anticipated “Secret Songs Tour,” Citizen Soldier stripped down their heavy-hitting sound for an unforgettable acoustic set at Minneapolis’s Fine Line. But seeing Jake, Matt, and Wonitta embrace the unplugged instrumentation wasn’t the only surprise of the night—the trio rewarded the packed house with the live debut of four previously unreleased tracks, making the intimate evening feel like a true VIP experience, or according to Jake – a group therapy session.
The stripped-back setting also gave the band plenty of room to let their personalities shine. Between the heavy emotional weight of their lyrics, the trio kept the room laughing with natual humor and convincing fans to cry and let thier emotions free, proving they can command a crowd with quick wit just as effectively as they do with driving rock anthems. To top off the already special night, the band threw a live giveaway into the mix.
A Night Filled With Suprises –
That deep sense of connection wasn’t limited to just the music and the giveaway. Throughout the night, Jake actively blurred the boundary between the stage and the crowd. Spotting fans with Polaroid cameras in the VIP section, he routinely reached out to borrow them, snapping candid, mid-show selfies with Matt and Wonitta before handing the cameras back to their thrilled owners.
